Brown University and HELIN Libraries

As of September 2015, Brown University is no longer a member of the HELIN Library Consortium. However, the Brown University Library will continue to offer certain levels of access to visitors affiliated with HELIN institutions per the parameters below.

Faculty at HELIN Institutions

Current faculty at HELIN institutions may obtain physical access and on-site borrowing privileges at the Brown University Library without charge. This includes on-site use of online databases and journals at designated guest stations in the Rockefeller Library and Sciences Library. Eligible faculty may fill out an application at the Rockefeller Library to obtain an access card. Access cards are good for one year and may be renewed.

Students and Staff at HELIN Institutions

Current students and staff of HELIN institutions are eligible for physical access to the Brown University Library. This includes on-site use of online databases and journals at designated guest stations in the Rockefeller Library and Sciences Library. Eligible students and staff may fill out an application at the Rockefeller Library to obtain an access card free of charge. Access cards are good for one year and may be renewed. 

Current students and staff of HELIN institutions should also be able to obtain materials held by Brown through their home institutions’ interlibrary loan service. 

Brown University Library Cards for Purchase

Anyone may purchase a borrowing card for on-site borrowing privileges in the Brown libraries. See Visiting the Library for more information.
