Collections in the Orwig Music Library
The circulating collections in support of music teaching and research at Brown are located at the Virginia Baldwin Orwig Music Library (“Orwig”), which is in the Orwig Music Building. Orwig offers a wide range of music- and media-specific services in support of the Brown community’s teaching and learning.
Orwig’s collections include sound recordings, videos, music scores, journals and books about music as well as materials on any other subject that directly relates to the interdisciplinary interests of the music department.
Orwig has substantial holdings in notated music scores, including scholarly scores, scholarly study scores (i.e., mini-scores), scores for performance study, and facsimile manuscripts. The collection includes scores in all forms of notation from virtually every historical period and geographic location.
